The Footsteps Nursery based at the Oswestry Campus of Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC) is celebrating after receiving a positive report following an inspection by OFSTED in which the children’s day nursery was given a glowing report.
The nursery was inspected by OFSTED in December under the stringent guidelines regulating the government’s new early years framework.
The Inspection Report looked into three key areas of nursery life, which included how well children’s needs are met, the contribution of the provision to children’s well-being and the effectiveness of the leadership and management. All aspects of the nursery were graded as a 2 “Good.”
The report noted that “all staff are highly skilled in supporting children’s development through play. All children make good progress as a result of well planned, exciting activities and learning opportunities that allow them to be challenged and extended. Safeguarding arrangements ensure children’s well-being is promoted effectively and children are kept safe. Effective partnerships with parents are in place, including opportunities for parents to support their child’s learning within the home. This helps them to be fully involved in their child’s learning. “
Lorna Rodgers, Footsteps Manager said: “I am very proud of all my team for all their hard work and their determination to achieve the highest possible standards. We are now firmly focused on achieving an Outstanding next time!”
