Travel and Tourism students from Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC) hosted a Christmas Themed, fun afternoon for 29 children at Whittington Church of England Primary School recently. The activities, which included face painting, card and decoration making, cake decorating and a treasure hunt, were carried out with youngsters from year 2.

The Enterprise and Development Department at Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC) will be leading a fantastic training programme to Sweden in April 2014.
Scholars’ student, Rebecca Wilmott, is doing her best to help the homeless this year by launching an appeal for warm winter coats to be dropped off at the Oswestry campus of WNSC.
The coats will then be collected by Shrewsbury ARK, a registered charity which is operated by Shrewsbury Christian Church Association.

Students have raised lots of money volunteering to collect for the Poppy Appeal. They collected at the stall in the Square in Shrewsbury and did street collections around the town centre and at Morrisons in Oswestry. They carried out a ‘Poppy Run’ at both Oswestry and Walford Campus. They also packed customer’s bags in Sainsbury’s, Shrewsbury in return for a donation to the appeal.
