The Scholarship is innovative and has a solid, successful track record in terms of player development and on-pitch success. Scholars have a timetable based around 60% classroom study and 40% football coaching. Learning is varied and practical, with an emphasis on developing skills in teamwork, ICT and selforganisation.
The main programme of study is the Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport Performance and Excellence (the equivalent of three A Levels). The Diploma can also be studied at Level 2 for those who do not possess the equivalent of four GCSEs at Grade C.
The timetable model allows you to train with fully-qualified TNS Football Coaches for half a day three times per week, with one full day per week dedicated to competitive matches. Training takes place at either The Venue or at the well-equipped Oswestry Campus where there are a range of training/match pitches, a fitness suite and a Sports Hall.
As part of the course programme, scholars will study Community Sports Level 2 plus other fitness/football related qualifications. All coaches are UEFA qualified.

The Extended Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence) consists of core and specialist units. Subjects studied include Training and Fitness, Sport Coaching, Nutrition, and Practical Sports. The course is designed to reflect both practical and theoretical aspects of sport across all disciplines. Learning will be creative, practical and varied. Students will study SLA (Sports Leaders Award) alongside their main programme. Assessment is via a series of coursework based projects, there are no exams.
Successful students possess valuable skills demanded by employers in the fast-growing leisure industry.
Career opportunities exist at home and abroad, and entry to Higher Degree or Diploma Level courses are typical opportunities available.
Four GCSEs at Grade C or above. Successful Football Trials and Interview.
