Walford and North Shropshire College offer a Football Scholarship whereby young and talented footballers who want to study whilst developing their skills at football can study for 60% and undertake football coaching for 40% of the time. Students can study a BTEC National Diploma in Sport plus there are other options such as IT, Key skills and foundation level courses. Trials take place each spring for courses starting in September.

The Football Scholarship has produced excellent footballers, with two students being offered full-time contracts. The New Saints Football Scholarship plays every Wednesday against other colleges, and some players have the opportunity to play for New Saints FC at the weekend.
